The race for the AFC West division title is officially over as the Kansas City Chiefs were able to wrap up the division title last week with a dominant win over the Tennessee Titans. With that being said, the rest of the AFC West division have absolutely nothing to play for from here on out.
Fortunately, despite being knocked out of playoff contention, the San Diego Chargers and the Denver Broncos will go head-to-head in what could be a very entertaining game. Not only do the Chargers have one of the most potent offenses in the NFL this season, but the Broncos offense is starting to perk up after they put rookie quarterback Tim Tebow under center recently.

The Denver Broncos may have gotten a lot of criticism for drafting the former Heisman trophy winner during the 2010 NFL Draft, but he has seemed to prove his doubters wrong as of late with some impressive performances both in the air and on the ground.
Tim Tebow is by no means Michael Vick or can even really be compared to the Philadelphia Eagles superstar this season, but he has had similar effects on opposing defenses as they don’t know whether to guard the pass or the run.
Obviously, Tebow still has a lot of work to do with his passing ability, but he is coming off a career high of 308 passing yards. Not only was impressive in last week’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he definitely the future of this team as he seems like a born leader and just what the doctor ordered for this struggling NFL franchise.
So without a doubt the one thing to watch for in this game between these two division rivals is Tim Tebow against the San Diego Chargers defense. It’s uncertain what kind of intensity we will see out of the Chargers this week because like I said before they have nothing to play for, but I can almost guarantee that Tebow will be giving it his all as he tries to continue to prove that he can be a starting quarterback in this league.

As of right now, the San Diego Chargers have been given a -3.5 point spread in their favor. That is a little lower than I thought it would be, but tells you a lot about how much the odds makers are considering Tim Tebow to be a threat for the Denver Broncos in this game.
Personally, I believe the Denver Broncos will come out on top in this one as the San Diego Chargers will be playing in the Mile High City which will almost certainly be extremely cold weather. Not only will the Chargers struggle, but I don’t think they will be able to contain a motivated Tim Tebow.

Over the past decade or so, the AFC West division has been arguably one of the worst divisions in the NFL with three out of the four teams within the division having little or no chance to make the playoffs almost every single season.
Fortunately, teams within the division have started to turn things around this season as the Kansas City Chiefs and the Oakland Raiders have finally become a serious threat to the San Diego Chargers in contention for the AFC West division title.

Obviously, there is still a lot of football to be played in NFL regular season, but the AFC West division title seems to be up for grabs right now and the Week 13 matchup with the Oakland Raiders travel in the San Diego to take on the red-hot Chargers will be key in determining who comes out on top in this division.
As they always seem to do, the San Diego Chargers got off to another slow start the season as they lost five of their first eight games, but they will head into this AFC West showdown with the Oakland Raiders having won four straight games and coming off a big win over Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
Even though normally the San Diego Chargers run the table AFC West division and dominate their heated division rival Oakland Raiders every single year, this season Tom Cable’s squad was able to get the best of Philip Rivers and company in Week 5 with an impressive 35-27 victory.
After the impressive win over the Chargers, the Raiders started to open eyes around the league as they were considered to be a team on the rise with a solid ground game led by running back Darren McFadden and a defense starting to get back to form as one of the best in the league.

Unfortunately, the Oakland Raiders have hit a speed bump over the past two weeks of the NFL regular season as they have lost two straight to the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Miami Dolphins. The loss to the Steelers was no surprise as Pittsburgh is arguably one of the best teams in the league right now with stifling run defense, but the loss to the Dolphins was a bit of a surprise and got people thinking that the Raiders were starting to slip into their old habits.
As of right now, the San Diego Chargers are favored to come out on top in this AFC West division showdown with a huge point spread in their favor at -12.5, but even though I believe Norv Turner’s squad should win their fifth straight and get some revenge for their Week 5 loss, the Oakland Raiders should make a game of it and take this game down to the wire.

Coming into this NFL regular season, the Oakland Raiders were considered to be somewhat of a non-factor in the AFC conference playoff race as they still had to contend with the San Diego Chargers within the AFC West division.
There is no question that they made some drastic changes to their squad and were arguably a better football team before kickoff in Week 1, but still thought to be a few players away from being a playoff contender.

Heading into Week 11 against the defensive minded Pittsburgh Steelers, the consensus around the league as of the Oakland Raiders are for real this season and arguably the team to beat in the AFC West division as they sit in first place after beating the Kansas City Chiefs (23-20 OT) in Week 9. Not only did the win over the division leading Chiefs propel them to first place in the AFC West, but convince a lot of people that the running game and the defense is amongst the best in the league this season.
Ironically enough, the Oakland Raiders do have one of the best running teams in the league as they are averaging hundred and 162.2 yards per game on the ground with up and coming running back Darren McFadden leading the way, but they will face the best run defense in the league against the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend as for superstar safety Troy Polamalu and company have held opposing teams to just 63.2 rushing yards per game.
With that being said this would be a very intriguing matchup in Week 11 as one of the best running teams in the league go head to head gets when the best run defenses.
Along with having one of the best running games in the league this season, the Oakland Raiders also have one of the best defenses against the pass (2nd in the NFL) as they have limited opponents to just 184.8 passing yards per game.

So with all these things going for both of these teams, this game will be a battle from start to finish in my opinion as it should be low scoring affair with a possibility of another overtime win for the silver and black.
As of right now, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been given the edge in this matchup with the Oakland Raiders as they are projected to come out on top and get their sev
enth win of the season with a -7.5 point spread in their favor.
Even though I believe that quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and company may very well get their seventh win of the season as they are more than capable, they will underestimate the Oakland Raiders and Tom Cable’s squad will look to take advantage and get their sixth win of the season while maintaining their first place standing in the AFC West division over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tennessee (3-2) at Dallas (1-3)
Dallas’ bye week was apparently used for practicing touchdown celebrations instead for scouting the Tennessee Titans. The Titans sacked Tony Romo a whopping six times and was intercepted him thrice. The Cowboys were penalized 12 times for 133 yards.
Chris Johnson ran wild for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Vince Young was off target for most of the game, but he still threw two touchdowns and no interceptions.
Dallas held the ball 13 minutes more than the Titans, but their miscues really hurt them. The Cowboys are playing undisciplined football and that should be a reflection of Wade Philips’ locker room management.

San Diego (2-3) at Oakland (2-3)
The Chargers continue their topsy turvy season. It’s latest debacle? Losing to the Raiders. Oakland snapped a 13-game losing streak against the Chargers. Oakland can now be considered as serious contenders for the AFC West title after they mustered a win against San Diego.
Philip Rivers had a big day against the Raiders secondary but was hit multiple times. One of the hits forced a fumble that led to a Tyvon Branch touchdown and a Raiders victory.
The Chargers outgained the Raiders by 227 total yards, but the three turnovers proved too costly.
San Diego better quit their Dr. Jekyll and Hyde act if they want to be considered one of the better teams in the league.

Philadelphia (3-2) at San Francisco (0-5)
Looks like the Eagles are gonna be just fine without Michael Vick. Kevin Kolb threw for 253 yards and one touchdown. He weathered the four sacks and showed that he isn’t ready to hand the starting job back to Vick.
The Niners are still winless through five games. They gave the ball a suicidal five times, three on fumbles and two on interceptions. It’s unfathomable how reluctant the Niners are to hand the ball off to their running backs. Frank Gore had a bad game, but with the passing game going nowhere they could’ve at least tried to give Gore more chances with the ball.
Whoever crowned the Niners as division champs must have their heads checked or are better suited to cover the NBA.
