Seattle coach Mike Holmgren says "We are leading our division, and we have a division opponent coming up, which is a very important game." Good grief, someone hand me a bucket so I don't throw up on my keyboard. Seattle is “leading” the worst division in pro football, one with a combined record of 10-23. Their “divisional opponent” in this “important game” has the third worst season record in the NFL, has lost six games in a row and is led by a quarterback with the worst completion percentage and worst quarterback rating in the league.

The Seahawks will have to go after this game by passing the football because without a consistent ground game they have no other choice. Seattle running back Shaun Alexander had his seasons worst performance against Cleveland last week rushing for only 2.3 yards per carry. Mo Morris also rushes for the Seahawks and since he has had more success catching the ball out of the backfield than Alexander he might be a better choice to help augment the passing game. Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck found wide receiver Bobby Engram for a season high 139 yards off 14 receptions against the Browns last week. Engram had only his third reception for a touchdown this season, but with more playing time he could make the difference in the Seahawks offense.

Whatever points Seattle manages to score will probably be adequate to win. San Francisco has little or no ability to pass the ball and if the Seahawks can contain 49ers running back Frank Gore who is just now returning from injury they should be able to move to 5-4. But heck, the way Arizona is playing even if Seattle drops below .500 they'll still lead the putrid NFC West.
