Bills Brief Team History

Being established as an AFL league franchise in 1959, and they finally joined the NFL in 1970 after the AFL and the NFL merged. They had a hard time getting to where they are at today, as they were one of three different professional teams that played in New York. They finally bested these other teams by outlasting them and proving their worth. This would make the Buffalo Bills the second NFL team to represent the city.

Their career started out in the AFL, where they managed to win two AFL championships, which is one reason they were picked to join the NFL during the merger. Once they joined the NFL, they have been unable to win a Super Bowl, but have won four Conference titles, and seven Division titles. The interesting fact about the Bills is that they have had the same owner for over 53 years, and the man behind the title is Ralph Wilson. Ralph Wilson was actually the owner, as well as the head coach of the Bills for a long period of time.
