Football Betting Predictions; AFC and NFC

Football Predictions

During this NFL season, there are so many teams that have the potential to make it to the Super Bowl. However, these teams have to make it past the regular season and try to be the best in their Division. These are the predictions for the 2012 – 2013 NFL regular season Division winners.

Division Winners – AFC

AFC North

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in back in great shape this season; hanging most of their hopes on their incredible defensive line. The Steelers general stats are:

They have Ben Roethlisberger as they starting QB, although he hasn’t had a very good start this season. The Steelers defensive key players are LB Marshall McFadden and DT Steve McLendon, which have been paramount in stopping the running plays. With a good enough defense like what the Steelers have, with an above average offense, could give this team the AFC North Division win. They are given odds of +125 to win this division.

AFC South

The Houston Texans have the best chances of winning this division with -500 odds; which says a lot at how much the Texans have improved. Their stats are:

The Texans may not have a good passing game, but they are exceptional at rushing the ball. They have Running Backs, Ben Tate and Arian Foster being able to gain impressive yards and touchdowns. QB Matt Schaub may be relying on these running backs to score after gaining some yards through passing plays. The Texans also have an impressive defense, ranking high among all the other great teams.

AFC East

No surprise here, the New England Patriots is being favored to win the AFC East, outmatching all of their opponents by a lot. Their stats are:

The Patriots have their saving QB, Tom Brady, along with WR Julian Edelman and RB Danny Woodhead being his main targets of his passes. They are still weak on rushing, and do not have a very good defensive setup, but as past games have proven, the Patriots are still able to win even with these stats. The Patriots have -333 odds to win the AFC East.

AFC West

The Denver Broncos have been showing up a lot lately in the news, as they have been using their new starting QB Peyton Manning, along with his laser rocket arm. The Broncos stats are:

The Broncos have been ranked poorly in passing as they performed poorly in this area last season, however, their Wide Receivers, Matt Willis and Jason Hill, are ready to start catching any pass that Manning throws at them. This will definitely improve their passing, and the Broncos are already strong at rushing with three great Running Backs, Jeremiah Johnson, Xavier Omon, and Lance Ball. This team is set to impress NFL fans all over the nation. The Broncos are given +180 odss to win this division.

Division Winners – NFC

NFC North

The Green Bay Packers are set to win this Division by a landslide. They have an average defense, but are an excellent passing team. Their starts are:

The Packers do not have a good defense, being ranked last in both total and passing yards. This does not reflect their current strategy though. They will be using the full talent of their QB, Aaron Rodgers, along with Wide Receivers Randall Cobb and Dale Moss. Their rushing is subpar, but we may see an improvement throughout the season. The Packers are given -225 odds of clinching the NFC North.

NFC South

They may be tied when it comes to the odds, but my money goes to the New Orleans Saint winning this division, over their rivals the Atlanta Falcons. The Saints stats are:

The Saints have very good ranking when it comes to its offense, with Drew Brees at the front, throwing passes to WR Andy Tanner and WR Courtney Roby; they also use the skills of RB Chris Ivory. One player stands out in particular, acting as both RB and receiver, Travaris Cadet. The Saints are given +130 odds of winning the NFC South Division.

NFC East

Having better odds than the previous Super Bowl champs, the Giants, the Philadelphia Eagles have been showing promise, especially within their offense. Their stats are:

The Eagles are showing promise with their excellent offense, and that is being backed by their above average defense. They have a great QB lineup with Michael Vick and Nick Foles. They cover their rushing bases with Running Backs, Dion Lewis and Bryce Brown; their passing is covered by WR Damaris Johnson and WR Jamel Hamler. This overall strong team is being given odds of +125 to win the NFC East.

NFC West

The San Francisco 49ers is in top shape to take this Division, bringing back their former glory as the top Super Bowl winners; with stats:

The 49ers have a very strong defensive lineup, with LB Eric Bakhtiari and DB Perrish Cox leading the pack. Their offense could use some work, but they have a good rushing team with RB Anthony Dixon and RB Rock Cartwright. In the end, the 49ers defense will be clashing against great opponents, with only one thought in their minds, stop the play. The 49ers are given -200 odds to win the NFC West Division.
